Hitomi Shimatani cover album

Posted by redracer on December 26, 2007

Once again Hitomi has changed direction slightly, and her latest album is a cover album of songs all originally done by MALE artists !!!

As you can see from the cover pictures, she is looking better & better each time we see her🙂

The songs are …

01. Kanashimi ni Sayonara (悲しみにさよなら) – Goodbye to Sadness – originally by Anzen Chitai (Koji Tamaki)
02. Koishikute (恋しくて) – originally by Begin
03. Rainy Blue (レイニーブルー) – originally by Hideaki Tokunaga
04. Escape – originally by Moon Child
05. Candy (キャンディ) – originally by Shinji Harada
06. Tsuki no Urade Aimashou (月の裏で会いましょう) – Let’s Meet on the Other Side Of The Moon – originally by Original Love
07. Another Orion – originally by Fumiya Fujii
08. Hatsukoi (初恋) – First Love – originally by Kōzō Murashita
09. One more time, One more chance – originally by Masayoshi Yamazaki
10. Shiawase na Ketsumatsu (幸せな結末) – Happy End – originally by Eiichi Ōtaki
11. Kotoba ni Dekinai (言葉にできない) – originally by Off Course (Kajumasa Oda)
12. Kanade (奏) – originally by Sukima Switch (Takuya Ōhashi)
13. Amairo no Kami no Otome (Otoko Uta Version) (亜麻色の髪の乙女 (男歌 Version) – originally by Village Singers (CD version bonus track) & was also her 7th single

All of the songs are quite laid-back, sometimes with minimal instrumentation, like just piano or acoustic guitar, although most of them have strings backing. Track 4 is the only fast paced song, track 5 has a jazzy feel, track 6 has church organ and choir & track 10 has a Latin feel. A DVD included has a video of each song being made in the studio, and Hitomi can be seen to be quite easy to work with, and gracious with the musicians involved.

Certainly recommended as nice music to relax by – and here are some more pictures for your edification. It’s for stuff like this that we actually BUY the product😆

One of the best cover albums EVER in my opinion. I especially love Kanade.❤
