I’m confused – who is releasing ‘Ai no Uta’? Kumi or Hitomi?

Posted by redracer on July 24, 2007

Just announced is the release of Kumi Koda’s 38th single …

The release date is the 5th September, and the title is ‘Ai no Uta’, which will be a love ballad. There will be another track relating to the 2007 World Judo Championships, and a variation of each song for a total of 4 tracks.

Of course as usual there will be a ‘CD only’ version and a ‘CD+DVD’ version with a different cover, which will contain the PV of ‘Ai no Uta’ as well as making-of footage.

The confusion relates to the fact that I thought the song title sounded familiar, and then I remembered that Hitomi Shimatani’s next single, ‘Shinku’, has a B-side called ‘Ai no Uta’ (conincidently also to released on the same day!!!). I doubt it would be the same song, and seeing the two artists are with the same record company, AvexTrax, I am surprised that they would be so uncoordinated to do this🙄

‘Ai’ means love, and ‘Uta’ means ‘song’, so I guess ‘Song of Love’ would be a fairly popular topic to write about

Whilst we are speaking of the lovely Hitomi, she will release a DVD of the Prima Rosa tour on the 12th September …

The same thing happened to me! When I found out about Kumi’s new single being called “Ai no Uta” I thought “Wait…isn’t that a song on Hitomi’s next single…” hehe
