Released on the 6th June 2007, this is Hitomi Shimatani’s latest single, the first since the release of the ‘Prima Rosa’ album, and is her 25th single.
For more information about this artist, please see this post. The track listing is …
- Neva Eva
- Neva Eva (instrumental)
- Hakuchûmu (instrumental)
As well as the CD version, there is also a DVD version (with a different cover), which contains …
- Neva Eva (PV)
- Neva Eva (making)
This single is a complete departure from the last one ‘Dragonfly’ – other than having a leaning towards ‘classical’ sounding songs, Hitomi has tried many musical styles in the past, and now she is trying another one – ska🙄
‘Neva Eva’ has a fast ska rhythm to it, with lots of brassy riffs. Whilst I don’t think it is not the best song Hitomi has ever done, it does have a catchy sound and sure got my feet tapping😆
‘Hakuchûmu’, which means ‘daydream’, is more like what you would expect from Hitomi, and has a nice slow latin-sounding feel. She wrote the lyrics to this song.
The PV for ‘Neva Eva’ has Hitomi dressed up as the object of many men’s fantasies – the OL (complete with thick-framed glasses). She dances around the office, eats her lunch and has an incident with the shachô. Of course she is as beautiful as ‘eva’ !!!
The singles is reported to have entered the charts at #16, and dropped from there, with a weekly ranking of #22 and sales of just over 6,000 units. Advertising within announces the next new single is due in September. I wonder what the next direction for her will be, and how long all this can last❓
