“Miss Air Guitar Japan” contest 2007

Posted by redracer on April 10, 2007

Apparently there is an international ‘air guitar’ competition (as if you didn’t already know that !!!)🙄

Entrants ‘play’ off against each other to represent their country at the world finals, and whilst you would normally think that this is a ‘guy thing’, there is also a competition in Japan for females as well, and the finals were held in Tokyo on the 13th March. The winner was a popular (apparently) 18 year old gravure idol by the name of Hiromi Nishiuchi. The performance was done to the tune “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” by the band JETand for the privilege of witnessing this historic event, you paid the princely sum of 2,300 Yen (about US$20 or A$25) !!!

Of course your performance was made better if you had less clothes on than the previous contestant😆

… or wore ‘clothes’ that looked like you were nude (like DJ Ozma’s “naked” performance at the controversial year-end “Kohaku Singing Contest”).

One contestant was clever enough to ‘play’ her leg …

… and another lass just really got into it, although I really don’t know who the winner was😳
