Ayumi (浜崎あゆみ) vs. Kumi (倖田來未) pt.2

From a source that currently eludes me comes the following …
“FOR the second year in a row, J-pop siren Kumi Koda has beaten Ayumi Hamasaki to become Japan’s best-selling pop act.
Kumi, 25, won the 21st Nihon Golden Disk Award last week for generating top sales of 20 billion yen last year. She has sold 3.5 million albums, 2.41 million singles, 140,000 music DVDs and 12million song downloads.
Despite her obvious wealth and pop status, Kumi seems to prefer the average Joe type of guy when it comes to dating. Her last boyfriend worked in a restaurant, but they reportedly broke up last October. Apparently, she was so upset that she started bingeing and gained 4kg. But she soon found a new love – a long-distance truck driver who delivers theatre props and equipment. They were introduced by a mutual friend during Kumi’s birthday party in November, and she reportedly fell in love at first sight.”
Well, it looks like there’s hope for all us ‘normal’ people yet
But seriously, so far this year, what have we had ???
Ayumi – 4 versions of a greatest hits album (I will review them if someone asks)
Kumi – a new single, a reworked previous releases CD/DVD and a concert DVD (all to be reviewed shortly)
Both of their last studio albums (Ayumi’s ‘Secret’ and Kumi’s ‘Black Cherry’) were full of previous releases, and nothing else extra that was startling, although the video clips were the best reason to get them in my opinion.
